My husband's cousin Gil has a lettuce farm in Silang. When he bought this property a couple of years ago, a two storey 3 bedroom/ 2 bathroom house is included in the purchase of this 4.5 hectare farm. Cousin Gil and wife Nilda, both civil engineers, constructed a new two storey 3 br/2 br house and a swimming pool which serves as their vacation house. The first house is used by visiting relatives and friends. We spent 3 nights in one of the two houses after our 4 nights stay in One Tagaytay.
We invited ourselves to this wonderful place because the temperature there is just like Tagaytay's which is several degrees colder than the rest of Metro Manila.
Just across from this lettuce farm is a flower farm. When we visited this flower farm last year, they have all colors of roses and a lot more kinds of flowers. This time around, we were told that they now grow vegetables in addition to flowers. We asked to buy Pesos100 worth of vegetables but the owner won't accept our money. He gifted us with a bag full of pechay, a bag full of mustasa and a bag full of eggplant. What a nice person the owner was. When we come back we have to remember to bring him a gift in return.
I like the words frugal, simple, logical, practical, freedom, honest/y, truth, compassion, kindness and these words are my guide in how I live my life. These words are also how I want to be remembered. I like cruising, traveling, sudoku, reading, tv, movies, cooking and spending time with my husband and children. In March 2001, my husband, our three teen-aged children and I migrated to Surrey, BC, Canada from the Philippines. It has been ten years since and Canada is now our home.
