I like the words frugal, simple, logical, practical, freedom, honest/y, truth, compassion, kindness and these words are my guide in how I live my life. These words are also how I want to be remembered. I like cruising, traveling, sudoku, reading, tv, movies, cooking and spending time with my husband and children. In March 2001, my husband, our three teen-aged children and I migrated to Surrey, BC, Canada from the Philippines. It has been ten years since and Canada is now our home.

Welcome to Canada
Mar's cousin Mimi with her son Carlo and daughter Katrina arrived in Vancouver International Airport this afternoon as landed immigrants. Her husband Josel first arrived in Canada less than 3 years ago as a 'contract worker' in Calgary, Alberta. Like most Filipinos, he was found to be a very good employee by his employer so he was sponsored under the Provincial Nominee Program by Alberta and after a short couple of months' wait he was granted immigrant status.
First thing he did was to petition his wife and children so they can all be together. Now they are here. What a happy day today has been.
We had a nice early dinner in our home and a wonderful conversation. I cooked meatloaf, baked atlantic salmon and spaghetti with meat sauce for them.
Tomorrow we are probably going to Whistler.
They are flying to Calgary on Thursday after spending 4 days in Surrey and Vancouver, BC.
