A Fire False Alarm In Our Building

At 118am the alarm in our 22 storey building went off.
It was blaring for about two mintues really loudly.
We monitored what was going on in our television.
We've seen that Dave, our Resident Manager, did something on the panel that caused the alarm to stop.  That's what I think anyway.

At 125am, a siren sound came from outside obviously announcing the arrival of the authorities.  A moment later, about 6 firemen showed up at our lobby door.

At 126am, about 5 policemen arrived and also entered our building.

Some firemen entered the elevator which was not working earlier.  Mar went outside the door to check if the elevator was working.

All this time, we are watching them moving and talking in the lobby.

One civilian came from outside walking in hunch like position.

A minute later he was on the floor, then laying on the floor, two firemen attending to him, checking up on him, etc.

At 135am, an announcement came on our centralized paging system saying that they are investigating a fire on the 15th floor and 3rd floor.  for those of us with no fire in  our unit, stay in our unit, those whose units are affected proceed to the stairwell because the elevator is not working.   This message was announced twice.

At 145am, a man from inside the building was accosted out by the police to their police car.

At 150am, the man on the floor was taken out on a stretcher bed.

At 150am, an announcement on our paging  system said the following: "ladies and gentlemen, this is your fire department, this is a false alarm, you can go back to your business now."  perhaps they mean go back to sleep or whatever else residents are doing.

At 155am there are some of the firemen and policemen still in the lobby talking.

At 2am, I can see 5 civilian, probably residents of this building waiting outside the elevator door.

At 201am there are 4 firemen and two policemen still in the lobby.

Sometime earlier, Sharon, wife of Dave, came on the screen wearing a robe. Dave was wearing a tshirt and shorts.

At 208am, the alarm went off again for a few seconds and it stopped.

It's 210am and I can see 5 firemen talking outside the elevator door, three of them entered the elevator, two policemen still in the lobby.

I think I better go back to bed and let the firemen and policemen do their job.

Goodnight folks.
