RVing in Europe - Next Stop - Venice, Italy

June 1, 2007

Our night parked in an Autogrill / rest area was uneventful.  We slept soundly and we were safe.

Mar started driving towards Venice upon waking-up.  Despite having a GPS named Georgia, we struggled a bit finding Camping Fusina, which we have chosen from several campsites in Venice because of it's proximity to Adriatico Mare (mare = sea)

Camping Fusina (euros 30 per night) is on flat grounds beside the Lagoon of Venice, so one can basically have a camping spot right beside the water and at night the glitters of nearby Venice is just lovely combined with the ambiance of the glistening water.

Below are my notes from 3 years ago:

"Arrived early at Camping Fusina.  We liked it coz we parked right beside the beach and they allowed us to choose our spot.  It was cold and windy day and almost raining.

We took a boat that took us to Venice.  Cha was excited and enjoying  every minute and took a lot of pictures.  Touring Venice means a lot of walking, going to all those small streets in order to reach San Marco Square and later Rialto Bridge.  Cha bought some pashminas for her friends and a pair of shoes (euros 28).

We later did grocery shopping (euros 52.).  We got carried away and ended up with lots of bags which were heavy.

When we took the boat it was almost raining and when we got back on land it was raining hard.  We had to walk a few blocks to the camp so we really got wet.

We had a nice "home-cooked" Knorr potato mushroom soup which was really delicious especially coz it's raining.  Soup and rain equals perfect."

Boat ride was Euros 10 per person round trip.
