RVing in Europe - Civitavecchia, Italy

June 6, 2007

I know that Civitavecchia is a port of call of major cruiselines.  Port of call = sea.  I thought it would be nice to hang out in a beach or at least to see this place by the sea.

From Rome we drove to Civitavecchia.  We were not disappointed, it is always nice to see the color of the sea, smell the sea breeze, just be there and relax.

We found a good parking spot immediately.  Cha went to the beach to collect souvenirs and took pictures.   Later, we went for a walk and observed the activies in this town, we bought gelato and talked to a fellow Filipino who was visiting her son who was a seaman on a cargo ship currently docked in the pier.  The seaman, unfortunately, can not get off the ship because he is busy and was not given a time off from his duties by his boss.  She doesn't know if she will be able to see her son.  She flew in from Milan, she said.

When it was time to go to sleep, Mar found a spot where he parked for the night, where we were actually by the shore.  It was very nice, we had a good and safe night free camping by the sea.
